Our team enjoys paid holidays, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Staff Appreciation Day (the Friday after Thanksgiving), and Christmas Day. Additionally, we offer a floating holiday for Christmas Eve, which can be adjusted at the Company’s discretion. In addition to holidays, we offer a robust PTO policy designed to provide employees with the flexibility to take time off for personal reasons, vacations, or illness. Full-time employees are eligible for 120 hours (15 days) of PTO annually, with increased benefits for those with 10 or more years of continuous service. PTO is granted in hourly increments, ensuring employees can take time off in a way that suits their needs while maintaining operational efficiency. At Bell & Company, we are committed to supporting the ongoing professional development and certification of our employees. We offer comprehensive Continuing Education Benefits for full-time employees pursuing or maintaining their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or other approved professional licenses. The Company provides reimbursement for up to 40 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits per year, with potential for additional hours if required for licensure. Employees can request reimbursement for CPE courses that align with improving their performance and enhancing the firm's success. Approval for CPE reimbursement must be obtained in writing from an Operating Group Leader (OGL), ensuring the education directly benefits both the employee and the Company.
In addition to CPE support, Bell & Company emphasizes the importance of CPA certification by offering a robust CPA Exam Program. The Company covers the cost of Becker study materials and CPA exam fees for the first attempt at each exam section, as well as 32 hours of paid time off for sitting the exam. Employees who successfully pass all four sections of the CPA exam within two years are rewarded with a $2,500 bonus, reflecting the Company's dedication to professional advancement. Furthermore, we provide in-house study sessions and workshops, underscoring our commitment to helping employees succeed in their certification journey.

Summary: Performs a variety of complex, professional accounting tasks in maintaining accounting records and preparing financial reports, operating statements, bookkeeping, and taxes for the clients of Bell & Company.
Manage client contacts; evaluate needs and identify opportunities for added service
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of individual, partnership, corporate, and other income tax areas by preparing returns using Ultratax
Prepare quarterly 941 payroll tax reports
Act as the second reviewer for tax returns prepared by Staff Accountants
Work with 3rd parties to obtain information necessary to complete tax returns and other projects
Train new employees and be of assistance to team members
Maintain various logs in Excel
Perform bookkeeping duties using Quickbooks.
Audit and attest duties; use Engagement software
Rare regional (NE AR) travel to meet w/client
The qualified candidate will have a CPA in good standing (bachelor's degree in accounting) + 3 years of experience in public accounting, strong written and oral communication skills, be proficient in QuickBooks, has excellent organizational and time management skills, and can work independently or as part of a team. As an intern you will gain real world experience working with employees at all levels within our organization and learning from their experience while developing your skillset. Our goal for a successful internship is three-fold:
Provide clarity about your chosen career field;
Broaden your knowledge base with the training and work you will perform; and
Provide an experience you would recommend and/or want to return to.
Interns will gain experience working with firm software to produce work product from bookkeeping to tax returns. Learn the practical application of what you’ve learned in college coursework and have exposure to client work you may not have even learned about yet. Work in a supportive environment fostering learning opportunities.
Our internship opportunities may be in the Spring, Summer or Fall of 2025 and are paid. Generally, Spring and Fall internships are part time and Summer internships are full time. All internships are in office. No remote opportunities.
We are looking for students who possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor or higher degree in Accounting in progress.
Planning to pursue CPA licensure.
Possesses understanding of confidentiality of company and client information.
Works well independently and as part of a team; takes initiative.
Displays a strong work ethic, organizational and time management skills and professionalism.
Able to work on multiple projects and the pressure of a deadline.
Communicates effectively both oral and written.
Possesses active listening skills, can take constructive feedback and direction.
Has proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word;
Experience in Adobe and QuickBooks is desired.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
